We are delighted to invite you to the 18th International Conference of the Metabolomics Society, which will be held in Valencia, Spain June 19-23, 2022 at the Valencia Conference Center. The Valencia Conference Center is an emblematic, ‘Green Architecture’ building, with state-of-the-art facilities, top-quality catering and excellent transportation links. Valencia is one of the most vibrant cities in Europe and a significant hub for science and technology. The meeting will be co-organized with the Spanish Society for Metabolomics (SESMET) and the Spanish Network for Metabolomics. This is the first time that the conference is held in Spain and our first in-person meeting after two years in the virtual space. We are positive that the meeting will once again provide an excellent opportunity for the community to meet in person, in a country where metabolomics research and innovation is thriving.
Building on the success of previous years, the conference will present the latest advances in the field covering the major scientific themes of technological advances, bioinformatics, metabolomics applications in health and disease, exposomics and a focus on metabolomics in agriculture, plants, food and nutritional sciences. The scientific program will include plenary and keynote talks, parallel scientific sessions, poster sessions, sponsored luncheons and other networking events. We will continue the successful tradition of satellite workshops to the conference in the afternoon of Sunday June 19th and the morning of Monday June 20th. Additionally, we have planned a range of social activities, including a welcome reception, an early-career researcher mixer, an event dedicated to careers, a conference dinner at an exciting Valencia venue, and more. All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure the health and safety of delegates for the duration of the conference.
Valencia is Spain’s third-largest city and a magnificent, welcoming place for delegates to enjoy its thriving cultural and culinary scenes in an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere. The city boasts a long tradition of design and innovation combining modern architecture with historic monuments in its charming old quarter. Many of Valencia’s attractions, which can be found within walking distance of each other, include the Opera House, the Hemisferic, the Science Museum and the Oceanographic, the largest aquarium in Europe, all designed by the world-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. The city is surrounded by a zone of market gardens, orange orchards and a long stretch of beach.
